About
History of how Geek Gamer Radio got started.
“The Tech Tribunal” – The Beginning.
Back in 2005, Control F12 got started not as it is today, but as a small little attempt at a podcast called “The Tech Tribunal“. This podcast was with Chase Nunes, Umberto Lenzi and Kyle Rumley. While we only taped one episode, the idea was sound and the motivation was there to create more content.
“Hoser Chat” – Second Phase
So shortly after that episode, Chase and Kyle decided to create their own podcast called “Hoser Chat”. The premise of this show was two guys or ahem ‘hosers’, that would give their gut shot opinions about tech, gaming, lan parties and other weird subjects. “Hoser Chat” went on to create 39 Episodes before changing formats and show titles once again.
“Control F12″ – Polished
Starting with Episode 40, Control F12 was born. The change with the show name was to become more focused with Tech, LAN’s and Gaming. While we had a good following of listeners, we felt that the previous name was hindering our ability to attract more listeners. At this time we also introduced the ‘Live’ component of our show by adding ‘TalkShoe’ to our list of distribution mediums. The exciting thing about TalkShoe was that we could add listeners to our podcast by giving them a way to conversate with us.
The motto “2 Opinions 1 Podcast” was used to start, however, as time has passed we have added many many guests to the show and we felt using this motto was no longer suitable . The new motto “The LAN and Tech Podcast” while might be generic really focuses on what we love, LAN parties and Tech. The two just go hand in hand.
